Are you ready for something really different?

I am now offering two variations of a solid body electric dulcimer.
Similar to an electric guitar, they are built of solid wood and rely on pickups and an amplifier (amp) to produce the sound.

Like all electric instruments, the sounds created can be controlled and manipulated by changing the settings on the instrument, the amp, effects pedals, and any other musical equipment one might "plug in."
You can set the controls for a clean, sweet acoustic tone, or turn on the overdrive and go wild, and everything in-between.
The possibilities are endless.

Currently I am offering only a two pickup and a three pickup version.

Left:
Two pickup electric dulcimer.  Features two single coil pickups (Bridge and Neck), a Tone knob, Volume knob, and a 3 way pickup selector switch allowing each pickup to be active individually or both active at once.
Price = $650

Right:
Similar to a Standard Strat, these feature three single coil pickups, a Master Volume knob, and two tone knobs (one for the neck pickup, one for the middle pickup).  A 5 way pickup selector switch allows each pickup to be active individually, or a pair of pickups to be active.
Price = $675

Sound Samples (these sound best with headphones or good computer speakers):
Click here for a version of "Billy Boy" where I start with a clean acoustic sound and then start altering settings on the amp and using various effects (the .mp3 file is over 6MB..sorry to all you fellow dialup internet users)
Click here for a quick "Rock Out" session with overdrive switched ON
Please understand that I have only a very basic recording setup.  The instrument is plugged into a small amp, the amp then into the computer soundcard.  The effects settings are built into the amp and also the computers soundcard has some effects built in.  It may sound complicated but it is not.  Aside from the electric dulcimer, everything I used (amp, soundcard, and cables) cost me less then $100 total.

I will do my best to keep at least one electric dulcimer in stock and listed for sale on my "Dulcimers Available now" page, but if I do not have any in stock and you are interested in having me build you an electric dulcimer like any of the two shown above, please email me at:
