have said about me at everythingdulcimer.com

dulcimers on my web page
Regular price on this dulcimer would be: $314 ***Please allow time for the photos to load*** |
4 string Mountain Dulcimer. 36" long, 6 1/2" wide, 2 1/8" tall sides
not including 3/4"tall fingerboard.
27 1/2" scale length (from nut to bridge). Fingerboard is
1 5/8" wide.
Photo above taken without a "flash" to better show soundholes.
Top and Back is made of Western Red Cedar. These are solid woods.
Sides are made of Walnut.
The entire instrument is beautifully finished with a soft hand rubbed
oil finish.
No sound dampening stains or varnishes were used resulting in a
clean, soft, natural look that allows the woods true beauty to shine yet
remains completely preserved and protected. This process leaves
the wood very smooth and pleasant to the touch, unlike the "plastic" type
feel of most spray or brush on finishes.
Sound Holes are hand carved and are unique. No two Tom Yocky dulcimers
have the same sound hole designs.
The Finger Board is built up from several layers of wood to prevent warping over time and creates a nice look.
Contrasting wood position dots located at 5, 7, 9, 12, 15th fret
Tom Yocky Dulcimers include a 6 1/2 and 13 1/2 fret with 19 frets overall, come equipped with 4 strings that can be evenly spaced (as shown) or the two melody strings can be played close together because the Ebony nut and bridge have been slotted for both setups.
Tail is made from Sapele and the Peg Head is made of Sapele and
Ash. The tail is raised to allow a comfortable palm rest while using a
fingering style of play (a feature unique to Tom Yocky's dulcimers). The
raised tail does NOT hinder ones ability to use any other playing style
(strumming, flatpicking, string muting, etc.)
This dulcimer has a small blemish from when the side wood chipped out
when cutting the end to attach the head. The chipout was filled with
small walnut slivers and resanded to be smooth, but the coloration difference
was impossible to hide. This blemish in no way affects the sound,
structure, or playability of the instrument.
This
dulcimer has been signed by me, Tom Yocky Jr., and dated along with this
dulcimer's unique name "Golden Tears"
It is brand new and has never been played other than by me for setup and testing.
The dulcimer has machined tuners for easier and more accurate tuning. Notice the Ebony nut and the hollow fingerboard for better sound qualities.
I've played this dulcimer and it sounds great. It has good volume and projection. Great tone all the way through the sound spectrum. The low action is perfectly set for easy play yet no fret buzzing even with heavy strumming, and it has been accurately intonated. I guarantee my work for 10 years. Should any problems due to materials or workmanship arise, I will repair or replace the dulcimer free of charge minus shipping.
I can convert this to Left Handed for $20
Also, Strap Buttons can be added to the dulcimer
Chrome = $5 extra
Black = $8 extra
Gold = $12 extra
